My Only Love

These years have meshed into moments—
Time spent surrounded by your laughter and joy.
I am humbled, even embarrassed, by the bliss you all so effortlessly offer.
For this, I am truly in awe.
"Can we drive a little longer?"
"Let’s just sit in the sunroom—
Paint, listen to music, and simply be?"
The words you say,
The memories we make,
Remain etched in my heart and mind,
Unchanging, everlasting.
This drive we’re on now,
The wind rushing through the car—
Nothing compares to this.
I’ve never been in love,
But if this is the only kind of love the universe grants me,
I will accept it without complaint.
For the love of my real ones,
The love of my friends,
is the warmest of days
And the sweetest kindness nature can offer.
To have spent my youth in this place—
Nothing compares to this.
"Let’s drive a little longer."
"Bask in the sun together,
Holding hands,
Laughing at nothing,
Laughing at everything."
To simply exist in this pure freedom of love—
There are no words
To encompass all that you have given my life.
